Tofino and Ucluelet, on the western shores of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, are the perfect locations for a getaway. Spread out between the two towns is a series of windswept beaches and rain forest trails to wander and watch for wildlife. We visited in the fall before storm season but still witnessed some great waves at the beach. Ucluelet also has a catch-and-release aquarium where you can see some of the local aquatic life up close. Black bears are relatively easy to find, but please respect them and take your photos from a distance!
